About Mick
My Story
I grew up in a small town in England called Stoke-on-Trent, smack bang in the middle of Manchester and Birmingham, the home of Royal Doulton, Spode and Wedgewood pottery, and the birthplace of musicians like Robbie Williams, Slash (Guns n Roses) and Lemmy (Motorhead). It’s also the birthplace of Capt. Smith, who famously steered the Titanic into stormy waters! Writing has always been something I’ve enjoyed, but I didn’t commit to produce a full length novel until 2016 (talk about starting late!)…I now manage to write two to three books per year. There are many more to come!
Personal Life
After many years in Stoke-on-Trent, England, I moved to Kentucky, USA, to share a home with my wife, Cathy, and two very needy cats, Crash and Thud. Then, after a decade, we moved back to Stone, England and stayed there for three years.
Then we moved back. I think we’re staying this time.
Writing takes up a lot of time, but I just formed Valiant Publications to give me more control over my books. I also read (everything from Lee Child to Stephen King to many excellent Indie authors) and listen to music (also varied and all over the place!).
Sometimes, I even watch sport. I still follow my childhood football team (aka soccer), Port Vale, keep an eye on Louisville City FC, and also cheer for the Indianapolis Colts.
